Services & Fees

ARA's fee for preparing a typical grant proposal ranges from $1,500 to $7,000, depending on what the funding guidelines require and the proximity of the submission deadline.  Proposals due within 10 working days of engaging ARA's assistance are handled on an expedited ("rush") basis, at a higher rate, as are services required to be provided on weekends.

The final fee for a specific project is based on an hourly charge for ARA staff involved in the proposal development, plus the cost of any other services provided by our organization.  ARA can usually provide a firm estimate of your final cost before beginning work on a project.

Neither ARA nor any other ethical grant writing firm work on a contingency basis for a percentage of a funded proposal.

ARA's standard hourly rates are: Principals-$100 hour; Associates-$60 hour; Clerical Support-$40 hour.

The hourly rates for expedited (rush) assignments and weekend work are: Principals-$150 hour; Associates-$90 hour; Clerical Support-$60 hour.  Note that all assignments due within 10 days of engagement are considered to be expedited.

Expenses associated with grant preparation and dissemination are passed through to the client at cost plus 10%, including long distance, copying, graphic design, postage or film developing.

ARA principals are available to meet with clients worldwide.  The daily on-site consultation fee for each Principal is $1500, plus travel costs and per diem.

ARA has the same low rates for researching grant sources; preparing a fund development plan or grant writing strategy; developing program or project plans; or providing professional evaluation services after a grant is funded.  Organizations and businesses are encouraged to keep consultation fees in line with their budgets by doing as much as they can in-house and outsourcing only what they can't do before the submission deadline to ARA's qualified planning, proposal development and evaluation professionals.
