Holly VanScoy, Ph.D., ARA Principal & CEO:

Dr. VanScoy has more than four decades of clinical and administrative experience with education, child and family services, health, mental health and the environment, including some 15 years of providing grantwriting, training, strategic planning and evaluation supports to community-based nonprofits.  After earning a Ph.D. at the University of Texas-Austin and an MSW at the University of Louisville, Dr. VanScoy taught child development, psychopathology and child welfare courses to graduate and undergraduate students at UT-Austin and Grand Valley State University (MI).  She has experience as a Chief Consultant for Curriculum at Texas Education Agency and as Director of Research and Evaluation at Kent County (MI) Community Mental Health.  Dr. VanScoy has served as PI for many foundation-, state-, and federally-funded evaluations, including the Mission Inn AIA Project in Grand Rapids; the Ottawa County (MI) child homelessness study; the Kellogg Foundation-funded Early Learning Initiative (Austin, TX) and the NSF-funded Aiming for Algebra initiative.  She publishes and presents widely, most recently at the Prevent Child Abuse Texas conference in Dallas and the Child Care Directors Symposium in Austin.  She is currently the independent evaluator for the HHS Children's Bureau-funded CRADLES project, the State of Texas-funded, OUR VOICES (child maltreatment prevention) project, and the Dell Family Foundation-funded Parents of Newborns project.  She writes and publishes widely in professional journals and the general press.

Patricia S. VanDyke, B.S., ARA Vice-President & CFO:

Ms. VanDyke holds a bachelor's degree in natural resources management from Grand Valley State University (MI).  Her professional background includes services as the Project Manager for an EPA-funded watershed improvement project in Cannon Township, MI.  She has published and presented to international, national and regional audiences on watershed management and public education topics.  Since 1994, she has provided strategic planning, training and fund development support to nonprofits in the environmental, education and human service sectors, as well as evaluation supports for child welfare, arts and health projects.
